Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 25, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Firsthand Event, Inc. ("Firsthand Event," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you use Attend (the "Service").
Attend is a platform that organizations ("Organizers") use to run their own events. When you register for an event, you are sharing information both with us and with the Organizer of that event. This policy covers what we do with your information. An Organizer's own use of the information they receive is governed by their privacy practices, not ours.
1. Information We Collect and How We Use It
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information. If you create an Organizer account, we collect your name and email address, and any organization details you provide. We use this to authenticate you and to operate your account.
- Registration information. When you register for an event, we collect the information the Organizer asks for — typically your name and email address, and any additional questions the Organizer has added to their registration form. We use this to process your registration, issue your ticket, and send you confirmations and event updates.
- Payment information. Paid registrations are processed by Stripe. Card numbers are submitted directly to Stripe and are not stored on our systems. We receive a record of the transaction — such as the amount, status, and the last four digits of the card — which we use to maintain order and receipt records.
- Communications. If you contact our support team, we keep a record of that correspondence so we can respond and follow up.
We use this information to provide and improve the Service, to prevent fraud and abuse, to comply with our legal obligations, and to communicate with you about events you have registered for or accounts you hold.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
2. How We Share Information
We share personal information only in these circumstances:
- With Organizers. When you register for an event, the Organizer of that event receives the information you submitted in the registration form, together with your ticket and attendance status. Organizers need this to run their event, check you in, and contact you about it.
- With service providers. We use vendors to operate the Service — including a payment processor (Stripe), and hosting, database, email-delivery, and file-storage providers. They may process personal information on our behalf and only for the purpose of providing their service to us.
- For legal reasons. We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that it is required by law, legal process, or a governmental request, or where it is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Firsthand Event, our users, or the public.
- In a business transfer. If Firsthand Event is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
3. Log Data
Like most websites, we automatically collect information that your browser sends when you visit the Service. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and similar diagnostic data. We use log data to operate and secure the Service, diagnose problems, and understand usage patterns in aggregate.
4. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and keep the Service secure. These are necessary for the Service to work — for example, a cookie is what keeps your session active while you complete a checkout or view your tickets.
You can instruct your browser to refuse cookies or to alert you when one is being set. If you refuse cookies, parts of the Service may not function correctly.
5. Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and encryption of sensitive stored credentials. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at team [at] firsthandevent [dot] com.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for a reasonable period afterwards. Retention periods vary by the type of data and its purpose: registration and ticket records are kept so that you and the Organizer have a consistent history of the event, and transaction records are kept for as long as required by tax, accounting, and other legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
7. Third-Party Websites and Applications
The Service may link to websites and applications we do not control, including sites operated by Organizers. This policy does not apply to those sites, and we are not responsible for their content or their data practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
8. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is inaccurate, to request its deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to receive a copy in a portable format. You also have the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To make a request, contact us at team [at] firsthandevent [dot] com. We may need to verify your identity before acting, and we will respond within the timeframe the applicable law requires.
Note that some information cannot be deleted on request — for example, transaction records we are legally required to keep. Where an Organizer holds a copy of your registration information, you may also need to contact that Organizer directly to have their copy amended or deleted.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at team [at] firsthandevent [dot] com and we will delete it.
10. International Users
Firsthand Event is based in the United States, and the Service is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States, where data-protection laws may differ from those in your country. By using the Service, you consent to that transfer.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice, such as an email or a prominent notice within the Service.
